Colchester's history subject of new talk series

HISTORICAL figures from Colchester will have light shed on them in a series of talks.
Academics from Essex University will join local historians to discuss the people who put Colchester on the map.
The series, Colchester’s Avatars: the historical figures on Colchester’s Town Hall, has been organised by Professor John Gillies and will examine those depicted in statues on the Town Hall, including Boudicca and William Gilberd.
All the talks will be held at Firstsite, with the first event on Thursday January 24.
