Consultation launched on Colchester Council's community involvement

RESIDENTS views are being sought on whether they have enough say over how they can get more involved in the planning process.

Colchester Council has launched a public consultation on its Statement of Community Involvement, which sets out how the local authority involves the public when determining planning applications and drawing up broader local plans.

The revised statement takes into account the changes included in the government’s recently introduced National Planning Policy Framework.

To have your say, visit www.colchester.gov.uk/planningconsult before February 25.

Why bother consulting CBC?

You only ignore all the expensive advice and local community and press on with what your planners want anyway!

I have tried to read the council's document, which is 34 pages long and alternates quantities of blank space with sustained paragraphs of the usual CBC polysyllabic turgidity.
Given that it is CBC's policy to hold consultations and then ignore the results, I gave up.

Consultations are ...... well consultations. You are talking about referendums - or is it referenda?

They don't take any notice notice anyway. It's all talk and 'jobs worth'.
