Fingers crossed that 7th July 2014 will be the day Le Tour passes through town on the way to the stage finish in Londres.

This is good news, the Tour Series brings lots of people into the town and is good publicity for Colchester. I look forward to it!

The council should be pushing itself to the limit to get Le Tour to visit the town

To get Tour de France 2014 would be great. The cyclists themselves are there and gone in a flash, but you get a great build-up with all the Carnival floats coming through. I saw it in France in the past with a film crew, and it was fascinating to talk with them as they got ready for the few seconds of filming they would finally get.

You also see the worst of human nature as little old ladies fight in the street over the freebies chucked from the floats!

If you want to stock up on plastic tat, get a spot somewhere in the countryside with nobody else around and you will be deluged with the stuff!

Good that it's in half-term week. That should ensure that the children are out in force, and maybe some of them will be inspired to take up bike racing.

Absoluetly brilliant. Colchester is always packed with any cycle events that it attracts.
