Video footage released following brutal assault in Colchester town centre

A VIDEO has been released of people who may have information crucial in solving a brutal assault.
 

Police have issued CCTV images of two men they want to question in connection with an attack in Colchester town centre.
 

A man was punched and kicked near the Game shop and WH Smith, in Red Lion Yard, at 3am on Sunday, December 2.
 

He suffered a broken tooth and bruising on his face.
 

If you know these men, or have any information about the attack, call PC Lucy Percival at Colchester police station, on 101.

These videos should be released next day rather than waiting a month. If people realised they could be splashed all over the papers next day, it might dissuade some at least. At 3am, after a night on the town, people don´t really take into account that they could be filmed, but these images are clear enough that they will be recognised by somebody.

Another reason for releasing these videos promptly is that people have better memories of what happened yesterday than of a month ago. Therefore they will be better witnesses if the case comes to court.
