Jay's mum opens shops in her war against knife crime
2:14pm Monday 29th October 2012 in News
Support: Caroline Shearer and Sir Bob Russell at the opening of the shop.
A MOTHER'S campaign to cut knife crime after her son was murdered has opened a shop in Colchester town centre.
Caroline Shearer hopes the shop in Lion Walk will raise money and awareness for her campaign - Only Cowards Carry.
Her son Jay Whiston, 17, was stabbed to death outside a house party in Marlowe Way, Colchester in September.
The shop, which has been given to Caroline rent free, will be open during half term.
