VALUABLE police resources are being wasted investigating petty squabbles on Facebook and Twitter, according to an Essex copper.
The officer, who spoke anonymously, about the rise in complaints, said: “I dread to think how many hours are spent on Facebook jobs."
The issue of the use and abuse of social media sites has a high profile in the county after prosecutions for comments made during the London riots and controversy over a spoof account for Colchester MP Sir Bob Russell which was discussed in Parliament.
