Bosses say apartment block parking restrictions 'fit for purpose'

PARKING bosses have decided against adding extra parking restrictions at a town centre apartment block.

Members of the North Essex Parking Partnership said the double yellow lines already in place on the residential side of Rotary Way are fit for purpose in spite of claims by residents that too many commuters are using the other side of the road to park for free instead of paying to park at Colchester North Station or in town centre car parks.

The existing restrictions were agreed by the developers at the time, Essex County Council and Colchester Council.
