Firefighters to lobby Government over budget cuts

ESSEX firefighters will be lobbying their MPs to try and prevent further budget cuts.

The Fire Brigades’ Union and Essex County Fire and Rescue Service have just resolved a four year industrial dispute.

They are now working together to cope with the £4.7million cuts to the £77million service budget which have already been implemented.

But there are concerns about what further cuts, due to be announced in December by the Government, would mean.

The fear is another £5million may be cut from the annual fire service budget for Essex.
