A SHOCKED mum was lucky not to get hurt when a tree smashed through her garden.

Anne-Marie Stringer was stranded in her Colchester home yesterday afternoon after a tow truck knocked the tree over.

The truck driver said: "I'm just glad no-one was walking past at the time."
