A TRUCK has collided with a tree which knocked over phone cables before falling on a car.

The DVLA tow truck hit the tree in St Helena Road, Colchester, at around 2pm on Tuesday.

Despite phone cables collapsing under the weight of the tree no residents complained of service disruption.

The tree caused scratches to a parked vehicle.

No one was injured and traffic was not impeded.
