Colchester secures £10,000 for St Botolph's project
1:56pm Tuesday 23rd October 2012 in News
THE regeneration of Colchester’s St Botolph’s Quarter has received a £10,000 government boost.
The Creative Coop and Colchester Council’s application for a grant to become a Mary Portas Town Team Partner was yesterday approved by the Department for Communities and Local Government.
The “community mapping project”, supported by town MP Sir Bob Russell, will see locals document the area’s buildings, traders, venues and residents.
See Wednesday's Gazette for more information.

Bound to be a huge help - it'll probably pay for a consultant for a week. Won't get anything done about revamping the area though. Useless.
Strangely, the people who apply for 10k seem to be far more careful what they do with it than the big projects.

Giving money to the Creative Coop is about as much use as setting fire to it.
The self-proclaimed 'arts elite' will get through £10k in no time and then they'll be looking for the next public sector grant/handout so they can put off getting a real job for that little bit longer. Freeloaders, all of them.
