TOP of the class Liz Bailey has won the outstanding newcomer award at the National Teaching Awards. Judges described her as super-intelligent and emotionally intelligent, and a leader beyond her own classroom. Liz joined Clacton County High School as a trainee in 2010 and by her second year she was made head of English. Miss Bailey has been credited with inspiring some of the school’s best ever results in English A-levels. She said: "I'm over the moon. I can't wait to see the children's faces. "It was a real surprise. I was overwhelemed. Everyone has been so supportive."
