Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell has admitted even he has been shocked by the plot twist in Jenny Bradley storyline.

Fans of the ITV soap have seen Kevin grow close to old friend Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) since she returned to the soap after 12 years away. But viewers have seen Jenny acting strange, and previews have revealed she is planning to kidnap Kevin’s son Jack and run away with him.

Michael told Good Morning Britain: “I never saw this one coming with Jenny to be honest with you. I was very excited, when they said we were going to get this new storyline and love interest. When they said it was Sally Ann Matthews it was great, because I’ve known her for many years, we used to knock around together.

“It was just like, ‘Ah! I never saw that coming myself!’ I think Sally’s been playing it just out of this world, she’s been fantastic.”

Jenny’s plan is set to unfold over the next few weeks as just one of many dramatic plots happening in Corrie at the moment. And the soap has bought in some top new technology to help film the nail-biting scenes.

Michael revealed: “We had a lot of night scenes, and it is as exciting for us to film them as it is for the audience to watch.

“We had this new drone while filming, so seeing the guys operate these things is a work of art. When you see some of the shots coming over the rooftops – it’s magnificent, it’s like working on a future film. It was just something different and special.”

Sally had previously admitted that she had been surprised about the turn her comeback storyline had taken, too.

Last week she said: “They’d been talking about me coming back for four years and this was really not on my radar at all.”
