Cole 'didn't deserve X Factor boot'

Cheryl Cole should not have been axed from US X Factor, her What To Expect When You're Expecting co-star Cameron Diaz has said.

The Girls Aloud star - who was booted off the stateside version of Simon Cowell's show last year - makes her big screen debut in the new pregnancy comedy, cameoing as a talent show judge.

Cameron, who stars as an expectant fitness expert, said of Cheryl's film appearance: "She's so great, she's lovely. She had such a great energy. What she did was really a favour to us because there wasn't a lot for her to do, but there was a lot of ad-libbing.

"She just kept the energy up. She was a lot of fun."

Glee's Matthew Morrison, who plays the dancer boyfriend of Cameron's character, went on: "Going on how she was a judge on our show, I thought she was great. They had her ad lib a lot and she just came up with all these great lines. So I think they got it wrong."

"Yeah, me too," Cameron added.

The film, which also stars Jennifer Lopez, Chris Rock, Chace Crawford and Anna Kendrick, is in cinemas on May 25.
