A member of Nicki Minaj’s tour crew has been stabbed to death in Philadelphia, the singer has said. Another crew member was injured in the attack.

The popstar informed her fans of the attack over Twitter.

Philadelphia police said two men, aged 29 and 26, were stabbed outside a bar early today. They said the 29-year-old was killed and the younger man critically wounded.

Nicki paid tribute to both the men on her Instagram account. The caption read: “These guys flew into Philly for my tour rehearsals 2 days ago and were both stabbed last night. #RIPDAYDAY condolences to your family. Unbelievable. Eric (on the right) is recovering. Another senseless act of violence that took the life of a great guy. So sad.”

Nicki also retweeted a link to a TV report on the bar stabbings.

Police said a man started arguing with the victims inside the bar at about 2am local time and pulled a knife once they got outside.

Nicki called the stabbings “another senseless act of violence that took the life of a great guy”.

Police are offering a 20,000 US dollar (£13,000) reward for information leading to an arrest.
