AFTER an up, down, and often very cold April, May Day Bank Holiday Weekend is again predicted to be a mixed bag – but it should get warmer.

‘April showers’ refers to the unpredictability of British weather in April and that uncertainty continues for the first May Bank Holiday Weekend with varying estimates of how likely it is going to rain.

According to the Met Office, in Colchester there is less than a ten per cent chance of rain on Saturday.

The Met Office predicts the chance of rain will peak at 20 per cent in late Sunday afternoon but remaining only about ten per cent on Sunday and also Monday.

The Met Office also predicts peak temperatures of 16 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday and then 17 degrees Celsius on Bank Holiday Monday

Meanwhile the BBC predicts a higher chance of light rain with peaks of 39, 44, and 53 per cent on Saturday, Sunday and Monday respectively showing it is most likely to rain on Bank Monday itself.

The BBC does predict similar temperature with a slightly higher peak of 18 on Monday afternoon.
