A ROAD in Colchester is undergoing maintenance work which will see it closed for several hours during the coming days.

Essex Highways is conducting “essential” joint sealing and crack repair works in Queen Elizabeth Way.

The work is designed to prevent water ingress to the concrete base under the road surface, which can lead to potholes.

As part of the work, a road closure is in place between 9.30am and 3.30pm until its completion, which is due for Monday, April 29.

During closures, Essex Highways says it also plans to address other defects in the road surface.
